Description
On this occasion, a sailboat model 33 Mistral has been re-powered with a MINI-33 diesel marine engine. This is a classic wooden sailing boat with a semi-lagged keel that had a Volvo Penta MD2 engine, the replacement was carried out by Carlos Buscató.
The MINI-33 is mounted on a Mitsubishi engine block with 3 cylinders, mechanical injection and 1318 cc. It has a power output of 31hp at 3000 rpm and is naturally aspirated. It is characterised by its great durability and low fuel consumption. There are also many possible configurations to adapt the engine to the required needs.
To change the old engine for the MINI-33, we had to modify the bedplate and replace the 2-blade propeller with a 3-blade 19″”x17″” dextrorotating propeller, all this to be able to adapt the new engine to the boat.
